Obtaining Your Marriage License
Getting Married In Hawaii is Easy
A license is required to get married in the State of Hawaii. You must obtain a State of Hawaii marriage license prior to the ceremony. The application must be finalized in person by an agent of the Department of Health.
Couples can complete the application online by filling out a Marriage License Application.
The Marriage License Fee is $65.
You Must meet with a marriage license agent at the Department of Health who will finalize and issue the marriage license. The finalized marriage license application expires 30 days from the date it is issued by the agent.
Bring the Marriage License Document to your ceremony. It will be signed in front of your officiant. Once the ceremony is complete, your officiant will file your marriage with the State of Hawaii.
You will be able to obtain your temporary marriage license on-line 1-3 business days after your ceremony. Your permanent marriage license will be mailed to you by the Department of Health in approximately 4-6 weeks.
